After a long off season, the Randy Brown Motorsports team returned to action at Columbus, Ohio’s Nationwide Arena for the first rounds of Monster Jam action in 2013. The New Year brought a new look to the team as Joey Parnell stepped into a new role as the pilot of Superman, while Randy Brown’s familiar ride of Grave Digger 19 returned to duty.

Joey Parnell - Superman - Columbus Monster Jam 2013Parnell’s season got off to a bit of a rough start on Friday night in freestyle when he found himself upside down after attempting to jump the backside of the center hill. The stack was unforgiving and put the truck over backwards early. Despite the early hiccup, Parnell bounced back to have a solid overall weekend with the truck turning in some good efforts in the wheelie and freestyle competitions.

Randy Brown - Grave Digger - Columbus Monster Jam 2013Randy Brown and Grave Digger pushed hard all weekend long trading punches with Jimmy Creten and the Bounty Hunter in both racing and freestyle. The two met up in the finals on Friday night with Creten stealing the win. In freestyle, it was Creten taking the first two of three, but Brown was determined to play the role of spoiler and turned in a high flying freestyle performance in the Grave Digger to pick up the final freestyle win of the weekend.

With week one in the books, the team heads back to the Tar Heel State as they travel to Greensboro, North Carolina for a two show weekend at the Greensboro Coliseum. To see where else the team is headed in 2013 be sure to check out our schedule for the latest updates.
